This morning, we went for a trial Tae Kwon Do session at a Tae Kwon Do school located in town. Tai Pi enjoyed herself so much, we couldn't not sign her up and so we did. And she was really thrilled with the uniform too. See how smart she and her friends look! Pumpkin was supposed to give it a go too but didn't feel up to it, maybe because of her neck strain; she hurt her neck maybe from watching too much TV while lying in bed - there's tennis elbow but this is the first time I've come across couch potato neck!

At least Tai Pi will be getting some good physical workouts and at the same time acquire some skill in self-defence. Hope the kids (esp. the boys) in her class don't get too rough when practising.
As for Pumpkin, we have noticed that she's more ladylike, not as physically active as Tai Pi.We have a good laugh over here to learn that she's having "couch potato neck" ! Surely this is the first time anyone has heard of such an ailment!
Yes, the workout will be good but I hope the benefit will also be in the form of character development - learning respect, discipline, perserverance and developing a "can do" attitude. I really would like Pumpkin to go for tae kwon do too but she says if she punches, her hands will hurt. This is like the time in Phuket when she did not want to go on the jet ski with me because she said she might fall off and get eaten by the sharks. She really needs to be more daring!
